Friday Round-Up: Winter Walk Updates, Texas-Style Chili, and Spring Wardrobes

Friday January 30, 2015

We’ve had a fun week around here, getting ready for Bean’s birthday party. We’ve picked out plates, napkins, and party hats (all blue please), and a party dress (pink hearts please, and let’s wear it now please?) Vegan, marble cupcakes are baking as we speak and I’m 50 pages away from finishing my book club book. Things are good.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Here are some fun links from around the web this week.

The Stockton Street Winter Walk is coming back next year. Hurray!

I’ll be wearing this pendant necklace all spring, layered over loose t-shirts and jackets.

As of tomorrow, this will be San Francisco’s first rainless January in 165 years.

These sleek murphy bed bunk beds would be brilliant in a tiny city kids’ bedroom.

I’m planning on making this Texas-style chili this weekend.

I always thought matching curtains to walls was the easy way out; Apartment Therapy calls it a pro-designer trick. Either way, it looks awesome.

Also on Apartment Therapy, all these darks walls are insanely pretty.

Potrero Hill’s 1,000-ft long slip n’ slide may or may not be coming back this year.

If you like floor plans (and, come on, who doesn’t), you have to see these multi-story subterranean joylands in London. There is basically more house below ground than above. Multi-story basketball courts, saunas, and antique car museums. And servants’ quarters, of course, who needs sunlight?
