Father’s Day Gift Guide: The Manly Diaper Bag

Thursday June 11, 2015

Dave and I have started a small tradition of buying Mother’s and Father’s Day presents that somewhat relate to our young charge. A watch to track nap and snack times, hiking boots for toddler adventures, funny-to-us night lights to make middle of the night diaper changes somewhat more tolerable.

One thing I didn’t have to buy Dave was a series of serious man backpacks. Oh no, he bought that gear all by himself. Baby’s got to have all her necessities nearby, don’t you think, we definitely need a rugged hiking pack to accommodate it all. He also went ahead and got the camping shelter. For the baby, of course. Baby needs her gear.

The thing is, a man with a backpack is a man carrying the diaper bag.

BUY HIM THE FANCY BACKPACK THIS FATHER’S DAY AND YOU WON’T HAVE TO CARRY THAT STUFF YOURSELF EVER AGAIN. Win win win for everybody.

I’ve rounded up a few options, depending on your husband/life partner/father of your child/soul mate’s aesthetic. Let’s take a look.

1. The Dad Who Wouldn’t Mind Being Mistaken For a Fierce Urban Bike Messenger, No Not at All

Chrome Barrage Cargo Pack.

Dave swears this is the new trend in men’s San Francisco fashion, having moved on from the twee lumberjack.

2. Cute, Modern Metrosexual Dad

3. Agro Dad: “Baby and I will be dominating fourteeners in a few years. Totally. She’s already got the leg strength for it, now just need to work on her concentration and focus.”

4. “Who Me? Just Taking a Break from Being a War Correspondent to Hang Out with my Little Lady” Dad
