What are your plans this weekend? We’re having lunch with friends and then figuring out where to buy a Christmas tree. I’ve passed so many Christmas tree outposts in the Sunset and Richmond (some even talk of pony rides!) The Holiday spirit is happening, people. (PONY RIDES. THROUGH THE CHRISTMAS TREES.)
From around the web this week:
The Western Neighborhood Project launched their latest webiste, OpenSFHistory, which lets you look at old photos of SF by neighborhood or by map. It’s a great way to spend a few hours.
Related to all the climate change talk this week, Mother Jones looked into air travel emissions and how it has significantly improved in recent years. (Jet fuel is expensive.)
This story of New Yorkers falling all over themselves for a glimpse of a Painted Bunting (a bird) is so charming. It really is a magical looking bird.
Also out of New York, an equally delightful interview with a Bloomingdale’s elf.
I love all these retro mod Christmas ornaments at Land of Nod. Perfect for households with little kids and curious dogs (re: made out of wood, paper, other non-breakables.)
David Lebovitz wrote about all the products he loves. Great gift guide for the chef/cook/baker in your life.
Have a great weekend everyone!
