Friday Link Roundup: A Win for Bicyclists in SF and Shopbop’s Weekend Sale

Friday October 14, 2016

Happy rainy Friday to you all! How exciting is the first rainy day of the season? I suppose we’re looking forward to a weekend of indoor Halloween crafting and rain-soaked hikes. That actually sounds absolutely lovely. Have a great weekend everyone!

From around the web this week:

It turns out a few billionaires, one of whom lives in Marin, are behind the Prop Q measure to ban homeless tents on city sidewalks. (And, no, the prop does not also involve funding for new treatment centers.)

Also in local news, the renegade bike safety group, SFMTra, got a little boost by our own SFMTA. The SFMTA has decided not to take down their “safe hit” posts. Well done, SFMTrA and thank you, SFMTA!

Speaking of bikes, these photos of fashionable Italians on bikes are everything. I want to be that woman some day. (My next website will simply be named Italians on Bikes.)

Citylab put together a fall reading list of books about city life.

I loved LOVED this primer on all the different architectural house styles. (I may not have actually understood the difference between Georgian, Greek Revival, and Colonial til now.)

Pretty much the only funny thing to come out of this election.

Have you heard of bottle-flipping, the rage amongst the kids these days? Are kids just bored?

If you’re buying a fall wardrobe, Shopbop is currently doing one of those 25% off everything sales, which ends today. Happy shopping.

And finally, If Animals Celebrated Halloween. HAAAA!
