Rainy Day San Francisco Adventures

Thursday March 10, 2016

Well, San Franciscans, the forecast is calling for rain for the foreseeable future. The city has disappeared into white outside my window, and the drumbeat of rain drops is really the most lovely sound.

But, let’s be honest. It can get kinda boring by Day 4, let alone Day 11. Especially when we’re used to spending our weekends lazing on a picnic blanket or hiking ocean cliffs. Here is a round up of rainy San Francisco adventures.

When the Weather Calls For a Rainy Day Hike

Day Trip: A Rainy Day at the San Francisco Zoo and Sunset at Ocean Beach (yes! in the rain!)

Our Favorite Rainy Day Books, 2015

Rainy Day San Francisco: The Children’s Creativity Museum

Rainy Day San Fancisco: Hop ‘n Play at the Tanforan Mall

Day Trip: A Rainy Day at the SFMOMA (since the SFMOMA is closed for now, replace these nearby museums in the itinerary: The Children’s Creativity Museum and Carousel, Museum of Craft and Design, The Contemporary Jewish Museum, Museum of the African Diaspora, California Historical Society, and GLBT Historical Society)

Day Trip: A Visit to the de Young Museum and California Academy of Sciences

And there’s always festivals, many of which are indoors: All Your 2016 San Francisco Food, Wine, & Art Festivals: Spring and Summer Edition

Happy sploshing, everyone.
