On SF Travel: Chinatown and The Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory

Fortune Cookie, Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory

In my latest for SF Travel, I head for Chinatown, and specifically the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. Really, this all came about because I’ve recently started using only the alleys and side streets to get around Chinatown. Little used and endlessly fascinating, the alleys make up a charming maze through the city.

Of course, once you’re in the alley network, you won’t be able to miss the sweet vanilla aroma of cookies baking. It permeates every inch of Ross Alley. I finally went into the fortune cookie factory to check it out, and, well, it wasn’t quite what I expected. At all.
