Your 2014 San Francisco Voting Guide

Thursday October 30, 2014

Hello San Francisco! Election day is upon us, with a variety of ballot measures up for vote. Governor Brown is seeking reelection. Nancy Pelosi is up for reelection. San Francisco’s David Chiu and David Campos are in a fairly heated race for State Assembly. It’s all happening.

The big local ballot measures are Prop E (soda tax), Prop F (Pier 70 redevelopment), and Prop G (the housing tax aka tax on house flippers). A few affect children and SF parkland: Prop C (Public Education Fund), Prop H (whether the Beach Chalet soccer fields will get artificial grass), and Prop K (renovation of playgrounds).

Dave does an excellent job of actually reading through the voting guides and looking into who and what is up for a vote. In case you don’t have a Dave in your lives, here you go.

Here is the official voting guide pdf, with brief snippets of what each ballot measure is about.

KQED’s Forum show, with the brilliant Michael Krasny, has been doing extensive coverage of the election, so if you want to know a LOT more about the candidates or if you want more in depth coverage of each of the ballot measures, here you are.
