This is what passes for an amateur firework in California; not exactly the pop-and-fizz ones we used to pick up in South Carolina on summer roadtrips. And people love setting off fireworks in this city; this was fired only a few houses down from us. Potrero Hill was a veritable firestorm.
The official San Francisco fireworks (in the background here), fired off the Embarcadero and Fisherman’s Wharf, were only half affected by the fog. As in, you could see the bottom half of each firework, created half domes all around the sky.
