That’s It Market on Mission and 23rd was featured on an episode of No Reservations. I’m guessing mostly for its divey charm and a monstrous cubano sandwich.
Half of the market consists of a short-order grill and counter, where cooks prepare the Torta Cubana — grilled steak, ham, bacon, fried eggs, chorizo, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickled peppers, mayo and sour cream, and (to bring it all home) a couple hot dogs.
Just in case you thought all of San Francisco was twee house-cured meat and imported cheese sandwiches.
