Friday Link Round Up: Plans for a Sonoma Mega Concert and Karl Ditches Us

Friday March 6, 2015

Weekend! We’ll be all about taking it easy this weekend. One trip down, one to go! We asked Bean what her favorite thing about Portland was and she jumped in with “AIRPLANE” (she talks in all caps). No, no, what else, Bean, what did you like about the trip? “AIRPLANE IN THE SKY.”

She has a point. Airplane travel is so routine now that you forget how revolutionary and amazing it is. We’re flying above the clouds! Looking down at mountains! And this is not the actual point of our trip! What a luxury. It is clearly more stunning than whatever third wave coffee shop we went to or the moss at the Japanese Gardens.

I hope all of you have a great weekend! Some weekend reading for you:

In SF news, we have a glorious City Hall now.

Also, Nob Hill dwellers, take a look at your approved new Polk Street plan. Buffered and raised bike lanes?! Can we get some of those too?

A new mega-concert (think Coachella or Outside Lands) may be coming to the Sonoma Raceway.

It seems like we’ve had fewer foggy days these past few years to go along with the drought, and a new study shows that LA has in fact experienced less fog. Due to heat rising from city streets and sidewalks. Karl, come back to us!!

I love that while Congress can’t seem to agree on anything, they can agree on this: a new program to allow pets on Amtrak. Animals do bring us together.

Dave and I laughed and laughed over this. Mostly because A) he lobbied his office for a standing desk B) it’s all he could talk about for several weeks and C) he didn’t realize it was satire until a few paragraphs in.

What your sofa says about you. I DIED. BECAUSE IT’S TRUE AND I DO SECRETLY LOVE DAIRY QUEEN BLIZZARDS HOW DID YOU KNOW? Although, the only Blizzard to get is Snickers and we all know that.

  1. Love the sofa link! I actually have an IKEA that’s also a hand-me-down. (There’s a reason I gave up click-bait for Lent.)

  2. So… you value good stories and free-flowing wine. Not a bad combination! Can we make exceptions for click-bait that’s actually funny?
