San Francisco native and documentarian Alexandra Pelosi has taken on all of the sudden changes in SF in her latest documentary, “San Francisco 2.0”. The documentary airs on HBO on September 28th.
HBO asks, “How is the tech revolution affecting the heart, soul, and pocketbooks of the city?”
This is such a brilliant pairing I gasped when I read the news. Ms. Pelosi is ideally situated to get the real story behind San Francisco’s latest cultural revolution. She felt drawn to make the documentary after realizing that even people in New York, her current hometown, were gossiping at the office water cooler about what was happening to San Francisco. In the documentary, she interviews local tech entrepreneurs, politicians, activists, and real estate flippers.
In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Ms. Pelosi describes the city she grew up in as “a sleep town.” And now, “I don’t know anyone who can afford to live in the city…I couldn’t afford to give my children the lifestyle I had in San Francisco growing up.”
It’s only a short, but I can’t wait to see it.
