I had this moment of determination and insight this past weekend while watching “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry.” I would start doing real street photography, photographing real people. My insides curdle at the thought of taking photos of people — it seems so intrusive. But, the downside is that I haven’t captured at all what San Francisco looks like on the ground.
You don’t see the homeless men I walk past in order to get that really crisp photo of a yacht piercing through San Francisco Bay. You don’t see the guys on the corner, dancing to an old school boombox and cat calling at all the ladies exiting the 24th Street Bart Station. There’s a whole San Francisco missing from this site.
Let’s see if I can do this…
