We were thrilled to have dinner with a close friend of ours last night, visiting from DC. Dinner was at Beretta, but the real highlight was the 2005 Smith-Madrone Cabernet Sauvignon, one of our favorite vineyards in Napa. You know I totally wanted to geek out and go into the whole powerhouse, grape juice Napa Cabernets vs. the subtle, minerally Smith-Madrone Cabernets.
But, sometimes, you just have to let it go and enjoy the moment, belly laughs and all.
