Snapshot: Hare Krishna

Thursday August 29, 2013

The coolest part about raising a kid in San Francisco so far has been realizing how much culture/activity/real life Bean has been exposed to in such a short time. I can’t wait until she’s older and can actually process what she is seeing.

Like, heading for a picnic at the Conservatory of Flowers, and suddenly finding ourselves in the middle of a Hare Krishna parade. Flower strewn carriages rolled past while women in vibrant sari’s floated all around us.

And then we came upon a mass of people swing dancing — Lindy in the Park (every Sunday from 11-3pm!)

We settled in for our picnic, listening to someone blasting The Eagles while we chanted the Hare Krishna mantra to ourselves.
