How was your week? We had a great week, thanks to a 3-day weekend and glorious hiking weather (sorry East Coasters; my mom called just to say that she saw the latest photo of Bean and, “the sky…it’s SO BLUE.” It is, sorry mom. Winter will be over some day! I promise!) And, hellloooo Oscar weekend! Or, junk food weekend as it’s known around here.

There are some especially awesome things to do in SF this weekend, so I’ll list those first.

If you do not have a small child at home, you just have to stroll past the Palace of Fine Arts tonight. It will be lit up in a replica of how it would have looked during the 1915 World’s Fair in San Francisco, or the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. THIS IS ALL MY FAVORITE THINGS. There’s also a bunch of other stuff going on this weekend to celebrate the centennial. The SF Examiner has the details.

More centennial news: Historians and the executive director of the CA Historical Society were on Forum with Michael Krasny to discuss the centennial and it was basically a SF history nerd fest, and it was awesome.

OOH OOH OOH, Curbed tracked down remnants of the World’s Fair throughout San Francisco! It’s truly fascinating.
