Friday Link Roundup: The Return of Winter Walk and What to Wear for Family Holiday Photos

Friday November 20, 2015

Thanksgiving holiday week, or as I like to call it Birthday Week, is already off to a start here. Did you know having a birthday that coincides with a major holiday is actually super awesome? Ok, ok, December birthdays, I understand your hardships. But, Thanksgiving birthdays? Rock. I’m the lucky girl who still gets to spend every single birthday with family and loved ones, putting on a huge party and blowing out candles.

Dave has gotten the ball rolling with a series of dates and shopping trips for the three of us. Then his entire family is SFO bound for the holiday, for a whirlwind week of museums, restaurants, and, of course, Thanksgiving. Bean is giddy with excitement to see her cousin and show her around town.

We’re going to need to slow time down, and savor all of it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

From around the web this week:

So, the overhead Muni wires will NOT be coming down for the Super Bowl festivities after all.

WINTER WALK IS BACK, YOU GUYS. It opens this Friday. Dreams do come true.

Also, in crazyfantasticawesome news that I didn’t realize I even wanted until just now: A female version of Deep Springs College is being planned, in ALASKA. That is hard core.

Originally, I was only going to link to this actually very helpful Apartment Therapy post with a suggested Thanksgiving Dinner Prep timeline (I love the idea to set the table the night before!).

And then I saw a link to DIY temporary tattoos… (Such a thing exists! And is possible!) Loved ones, uh, I apologize in advance for this year’s Christmas presents.

It’s family holiday photo season, and Shana at The Mom Edit broke down the Family Holiday Photo Wardrobe into 8 simple rules. It all makes so much sense, without being cutesy or forced.

Speaking of style, Gothamist put together a slideshow of New Yorkers on their lunch breaks in the 1970s. There’s…a lot of magenta. It’s fabulous.
