Friday Link Roundup: Holy Corruption Scandal, San Francisco (and Cute Dresses)

Friday August 7, 2015

What an exciting week. Bean tested out preschool this week, and I’m not sure there is anything like the first time you witness your baby acting like a school kid. Did she just grab her lunch box, bring it over to the group, sit down, and start eating like a functional member of society? That feeling of pride, mixed with equal parts confusion and awe, is intense.

We’re still working on the and-then-you-stay-and-mommy-leaves part.

How was your week?

From around the web this week:

The Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow prosecution just got a whole lot more interesting. He’s implicating Mayor Ed Lee in a pay-to-play scheme, there are some truly excellently juicy and corrupt quotes from a Human Rights Commission staffer, and word that David Chiu started wearing a wire for the FBI and feared for his life. Hooooo boy, San Francisco.

In urban planning news, the new car-less Market Street is almost here.

Elsewhere in the city, groundbreaking on the Noe Valley Town Square (where that weird, small parking lot is now) will begin in January. Completion date October 2016.

Apartment Therapy featured another San Francisco couple turning a walk-in closet into a nursery. 1) It’s adorable. 2) It’s officially a thing people!

Speaking of babies and pregnancy, this dress might be the most perfect first and second trimester momiform. (Via The Mom Edit)

Fascinating: if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to read for a dyslexic. (Via Cup of Jo)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
