Friday Link Roundup: Plutomania

Friday July 17, 2015

This week was marked by a lot of fun, a lot of giggles and funny toddler conversations… and not a lot of sleep. As a friend of mine suggested, maybe this is just 2 and a half? We’re all looking forward to some rest this weekend, hopefully the toddler gets the memo.

From around the web this week:

This week was all Pluto all the time. I especially loved the dumbfounded reaction of the scientists at the helm. “It’s like piles of stuff with grooves in it.” Ha!

Relive the moment NASA Mission Operations heard back from New Horizons.

Stephen Colbert and Neil Degrasse Tyson met up to totally geek out about it too.

NASA just released a video animation of the flyover, which is just as cool as you’d think. ICE MOUNTAINS.

And then someone made a Pluto macaron and so it was the best week ever.

Back closer to home, SFPD has been cracking down on bicyclists. Be careful out there.

It was a tough week for Uber in CA.

If you also spend most of the evening figuring out what movies to watch on Netflix, Sylvie at SlyWit rounded up dozens of movies you may not have seen in 2014. Thank you, Sylvie! It’s like you know my life.

Nordstrom’s anniversary sale is in full swing. I want this jacket. It’s also a good time to buy that Frye boot you’ve had your eye on. Now, if only SF started having proper chilly winters again…

Unrelated to anything, this woman looks amazing.

Have a great weekend everyone!
