On SFTravel: My complete guide to the America’s Cup in San Francisco

Balcutha at San Francisco Bay

The yachts are coming, the yachts are coming! Hopefully leaving a trail of Nantucket red and sockless boat shoes behind them. Starting this summer, the America’s Cup is coming to San Francisco, starting with races August 11-19 and August 27-September 2, 2012.

SFTravel has my complete guide to attending the America’s Cup, including which hillside parks and deserted islands will make for the best views, which restaurants to head to after the day’s races, and most importantly — how to get around when the whole city will be at a stand still. Oh, and a discussion of how comically expensive hotels will be and tips on alternative housing.

I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be over here, practicing how to speak with a clenched jaw.
