Photo of the Day: Put a Spork On It

Saturday December 17, 2011

Spork

Spork, maybe our favorite restaurant in SF, will be closing next week. Formerly a KFC, and wholeheartedly embracing it’s fast food past, Spork will be turned into a new condo complex. Heavy sighs.

We headed over last night for one last meal. Pumpkin puree soup, avocado and sardine crostini, sausage papperdelle, and scallops with coconut rice. And that was all before the Elvis Has Left the Building, their addictive homemade Reese’s cup, ice cream, banana, peanuts, chocolate and caramel sauce. And, you guys, the service! Everyone there is/was so friendly! Like, prosecco at the door while you wait, friendly.

Someday, we’ll have to venture to the owner’s other restaurant, Thermidor, and cross our fingers that we see some familiar faces and favorite dishes.
